In his phenomenal career which lasted for almost 19 years he had been a serious pain in the buttocks for all the strikers who came across his way. He won the FIFA football player of the year 2006 and the first defender to get that, as well as the European footballer of the year (Ballon d'Or) the same year. However, the best moment of his life emerged when Italy beat France in the Worldcup Final 2006. He was the skipper of the Italian team that time. Cannavaro started his professional football by joining Napoli in 1993 later on moving to Parma in 1995. For his national team he made the debut in 1997 whilst gaining savvy accomplishments for himself as well as for Parma. He movied to Intermilan in 2002 and then to Juventus and Real Madrid after that. In 2010 he made a move to UAE Football League on a free transfer for the side Al-Ahli Dubai. He would still be working as a technical advisor for the team.
