According to reports from The Guardian,Liverpool's £15million bid has been rejected for the Aston Villa play maker.Aston Villa rate the player at £20 million and are quite unwilling to let the player leave after the departure of Ashley Young.However,Downing has shown desire in joining Liverpool and has refused to sign a contract extension with his current deal due to expire in 2 year's time.Villa may just have to cash in on him sooner or later or risk losing him on a free transfer.
